2000 years ago over 1000 people worked for 5 years on the construction of the Pont du Gard.

Built under the reign of Louis The Fourteenth, the canal du Midi (Midi waterway) is the oldest channel of Europe still operative. 

The waterway, imagined by engineer Pierre-Paul Riquet, is made of remarkable works which give it an exceptional patrimonial interest.  Unesco has

A museum devoted to the life and the strange activities of Saunière take place now in its house, the villa Béthanie.
