The Piton de la Fournaise, 2.631 meters high (8000 feet), is the active volcano of the Réunion Island
It corresponds to the top and the Eastern side of the solid mass of the Piton de la Fournaise (Furnace mountain), a volcano shield which constitutes 40% of the island in its south-eastern part.
